Who we are 2018-01-06T14:11:42+00:00

Be More Outdoors can facilitate work with children, young people and adults in an outdoor setting with personal development, increased self esteem and enjoying the outdoors being the underlying themes.

Be More Outdoors has experience of working with groups from reception age to adult, including people with learning differences, children excluded from school or on school enrichment programmes, Sure Start, family groups and youth groups.

Details of some of our programmes are outlined throughout this website though this is by no means exhaustive and we are always happy to meet with you and discuss the individual needs of your group.

You will not find a definitive list of programmes as Be More Outdoors believes that one size does not fit all and that experiences are dependent upon the needs and wishes of the participants. Some examples of programmes and sessions run by BMO:

  • Family Forest Schools provision, Pre school and older

  • Family Bushcraft and 8-12 Bushcraft qualifications

  • Curriculum days around Science, History and Nature

  • Craft workshops, green woodwork, willow weaving

  • Growing and wildlife projects

And of course out hugely popular woodland parties on ANY theme that you or your child can imagine…go on, challenge us.

I had a great time and really enjoyed the day. A tutor in a day-long session has a lot of power and I think the tutor handled this really well, not imposing his personality on the group, but setting a tone of purposeful discovery.

Babes in the Wood

The Babes in the Woods Family Forest School has been running in Slaithwaite since Summer 2011

Colne Valley Bushcraft Club

The ability to be comfortable outdoors, to make shelter and fire and find food brings with it an unrivalled sense of satisfaction.

In an ever increasingly technological age, the opportunity to work in, and with nature to create something unique is something that more of us are drawn to.

Good 2 Grow

Whether we are promoting food security or exposing children and adults to growing as a healthy past time,
food and the growing of food is at the heart of the Be More Outdoors ethos

What we have been doing
